If someone special in your life is getting ready to graduate, it is not only going to be a special day, but quite an emotional one too! Planning a party to celebrate is just the way to commemorate the special event. Plan a themed party using the colors of their Alma Matter and hand pick the menu and your party is sure to be something the graduate won’t soon forget.
When planning a graduation party, it is easy to incorporate a theme. If your graduate is graduating from college, then plan the theme around the degree they just earned! Do you now have a doctor in the family? You should celebrate with a cake that looks like a prescription pad! If your graduate just earned a degree in science, then have a cake that looks like a test tube. The possibilities here are endless. For a high school graduate, you can use the school mascot for your theme. After all, you are celebrating them spending the last four years in high school. The more unique your party is, the more memorable it will be. Don’t be afraid to go overboard with the theme. The more the merrier!
Now is the perfect time to incorporate different colors into a party. You can absolutely feel free to use the graduate’s school colors. If their school colors aren’t on your idea list, then try to incorporate their favorite colors. Whichever way you choose to incorporate the colors, you should try to make it unique to the graduate. You can add colors in the invitations you send out and you can also match the invitations to the plates, cups, napkins and utensils. If you want to get real crazy, you can even spice the party up a bit by using balloons and streamers! All of these items are available to order online, so if you are a busy person, simply click your mouse and voila, they will be at your doorstep in no time. This will also help to ensure that all of the colors match.
Finally, you should spend extra time in hand picking your menu. If your graduate is about to go off to college, this may be the last really good meal they get in a while. How good can those iron-pressed grilled cheese sandwiches be, anyway? Ask the graduate what food they would like to have. As long as their requests aren’t too demanding, and they are easily attainable, why not try to include a few on the menu? You should also be sensitive to the fact that not all people may eat strange foods your graduate requests. For this reason, try to include a few items on your menu that are popular among most people.
Whether it is by making your party thematic, very colorful or having the perfect menu, your graduate is sure to remember it for years to come. Always remember to make it fun, functional and relatively stress-free. Oh, and don’t forget to take pictures!
